PRINCIPAL

Born in Malacca in 1976, Ar. Dexter Y.P. Koh obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Greenwich, UK in 1999 and subsequently continued his Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture at the University of Westminster, London from 2000 to 2002.

Upon graduation he joined Laurent Lim Architect until 2007, where he was involved in a diverse range of high-profile projects in Laurent Lim Architect including UMW Toyota Centres, Wisma Lion HQ and co-presented a PAM Design Lecture on the restoration of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery in 2007.

Between 2007 to 2013 as Senior Architect in ArchiCentre & DTLM Architect he spearheaded a design & project team in various development projects locally and in Cambodia - TSCLK Integrated Complex & National Election Committee Building and NagaCity Walk, amongst others. He was responsible for all design conceptualisation, design development and project implementation in the projects under his direction, ranging from larger projects such as PJ Exchange, Glad Tidings Vision Centre and Ceylon Serviced Suites to niche commissions such as Bakita Bar & Restaurant, Suen Galleries and A Cut Above Academy.

He obtained his LAM Professional Architect qualification in 2008. He was featured in PAM’s publication of 30under40 Emerging Malaysian Architects in 2011.

Dexter is currently a Corporate Member of PAM, PAM Council Member (2016-2019), and Corporate Member of MIID.

In 2013 he founded DEKODA (Dexter Koh Design Architect) an emerging architectural and interior design studio & practice in experimentation with new ideas and concepts in the various projects it undertakes.

Dexter and his team of young and energetic architects continue to embrace diversity of project typologies in DEKODA with commissions ranging from small-scale alteration & additions, interiors and up to large-scale masterplanning projects.
